Projects & Areas of Support

Empowering Women and Gender Expansive People

Gather RI

We are assisting with the buildiconstruction  of Gather RI a nonprofit cultural center for women and gender expansive people providing role models and intersectional feminist community. The Center will feature:

  • A portrait gallery and biographical library
  • Programs including peer groups, mentorships and speaker series
  • A haven for women and gender expansive people who are creating the future of RI

Building construction is currently underway in Providence, with a projected opening date of mid-2025.

Help Her Run

We are a founding backer of this civic engagement initiative to recruit and train Rhode Islanders to be campaign managers for women and gender expansive people running for local office in our state. Launched in 2023, this practical, in-person training program is low-cost, nonpartisan and supported by an alliance of multiple organizations. Learn more here.

Feminist Organizations

We support a variety of not-for-profit, organizations and initiatives, mainly in RI, which focus on the empowerment of women and gender expansive people. We believe intersectional feminism is crucial to humanity’s future.

Parks and Flowers

Bloom Rhode Island

We are a founding backer of this not-for-profit initiative supporting the groups and organizations that bring more joy to our state via planting and upkeep of publicly visible spaces - ranging from parks to sidewalks. Bloom Rhode Island includes

  • Bloom Rhode Island Network for groups and orgs making green spaces more joyful
  • Grants for community groups planting and maintaining publicly visible green and flowering spaces
  • Hope Springs - free flower bulbs for public spaces in 5 Rhode Island cities

Friends of Kinney Faella Gardens

We are pleased to support this nonprofit backing the nearly century old Kinney Gardens in Kingston RI, which are open to the public year-round. The Gardens are regionally famous for their azalea displays. More info here.

What Cheer Flower Farm (Past Project)

In 2022-2023, we helped the charity farm create a site masterplan, apply for and win a $500,000 EPA grant, and manage the demolition of the former factory building on its land in Olneyville Providence.

The Literary Arts and Libraries

Local Libraries

We support local libraries (and you should too.)

LitArts RI (Past Project)

In 2022, we assisted this state-wide arts organization with locating, designing and building out their award-winning Center in Providence. The Center provides community, training and a third space for RI’s 20,000 creative writers. More info here

(More) Livable Cities

The Wellspring Building

We are renovating and managing this small commercial building in the Valley arts neighborhood of Providence at 301 Harris Ave. Our goal is to provide a wonderful indoor-outdoor space for arts-related community-building organizations at below-market rents. Three tenants have been chosen and we anticipate doors opening mid-2025.

Assorted Project Support

We believe a livable city requires basics like affordable housing, food, public transit and education for everyone, as well as a commitment to the arts, locally-owned businesses, diversity, accessibility, civic engagement and a healthy not-for-profit sector.  Our project support has been mainly focused on Providence RI, but we are also interested in other Northern RI cities.
