We revamped this small industrial building in the Valley arts neighborhood of Providence at 301 Harris Ave in 2024-2025. Our goal was to provide indoor-outdoor space for arts-related community-building organizations at below-market rents. The units are now occupied by Now or Never Hobby Hub & Social Club , LLAMAproduct and The Womxn Project Education Fund's A-R-T Lab.
We are one of many members of the Rhode Island Community Investment Cooperative, a diversified fund run by the Local Return which helps build community wealth in Rhode Island neighborhoods by investing in locally-owned and community-driven real estate revitalization, engaging community investors, leveraging social capital, and building a pipeline of investments through customized support to potential investees.
We believe a livable city requires basics like affordable housing, food, public transit and community spaces, as well as a commitment to the arts, locally-owned businesses, diversity, accessibility, civic engagement and a healthy not-for-profit sector. Our project support has been mainly focused on Providence RI, but we are also interested in other Providence County areas.
